“나도 다른 사람들과 다를 바 없구나. 세상을 있는 그대로 보는 게 아니라 내가 보고 싶은 대로만 보고 있으니 말이야.”
우리는 흔히 보고 싶은 것만 보는 경향이 있죠. 소년은 뼈아픈 배신을 통해 세상의 쓴맛과 함께 자기객관화라는 아주 비싼 수업료를 치른 셈입니다.

우림(Urim)과 툼밈(Thummim)은 구약성경에서 대제사장이 하나님의 뜻을 묻기 위해 사용했던 도구입니다. 소년에게는 단순한 보석 이상의 영적인 이정표가 되어줍니다.
