“이미 기록된 것이라면 바꿀 방법이 없으니까 말이다.” “제가 본 것은 오직 군대뿐이었습니다.” 소년이 대답했다.
“I didn’t see the outcome of the battle.” The stranger seemed satisfied with the answer.
“전투의 결과까지는 보지 못했습니다.” 소년의 대답에 이방인은 만족한 듯 보였다.
But he kept the sword in his hand. “What is a stranger doing in a strange land?”
하지만 그는 여전히 칼을 손에서 놓지 않았다. “이방인이 이 낯선 땅에서 무엇을 하고 있는 것이냐?”
“I am following my Personal Legend. It’s not something you would understand.”

이방인은 칼을 칼집에 꽂았고, 그제야 소년은 긴장을 풀었다. “너의 용기를 시험해봐야만 했다.” 이방인이 말했다.

“용기야말로 ‘우주의 언어’를 이해하는 데 가장 필수적인 자질이기 때문이지.”
