AS WINTER drew on, Mollie became more and more troublesome. She was late for work every morning and excused herself by saying that she had overslept,

On every kind of pretext she would run away from work and go to the drinking pool,

One day, as Mollie strolled blithely into the yard, flirting her long tail and chewing at a stalk of hay, Clover took her aside.
어느 날, 몰리가 긴 꼬리를 살랑대고 건초 줄기를 씹으며 기분 좋게 마당으로 들어서자 클로버가 그녀를 따로 불러냈다.
“Mollie,” she said, “I have something very serious to say to you.
“몰리,” 클로버가 말했다. “너에게 아주 진지하게 할 말이 있어.”
This morning I saw you looking over the hedge that divides Animal Farm from Foxwood.”
“오늘 아침에 네가 동물 농장과 폭스우드 농장 사이의 울타리 너머를 기웃거리는 걸 봤단다.”
One of Mr. Pilkington’s men was standing on the other side of the hedge.
