It was fun watching my sister dance the Time Warp on stage,
누나가 무대에서 ‘타임 워프’를 추는 모습은 꽤 볼만했어.
but I don’t think I could have handled her pretending to have sex with a large stuffed Gumby.
하지만 누나가 커다란 검비 인형을 안고 그런 민망한 시늉을 하는 것까지는 도저히 감당할 자신이 없었지 뭐야.
I asked my sister if she wanted to come to Craig’s for the party afterward,
공연이 끝나고 누나한테 크레이그네 집에서 열리는 파티에 같이 갈 거냐고 물어봤어.
but she said that one of her friends was having a party, so she was going to that.
하지만 누나는 자기 친구가 여는 파티가 있다면서 그리로 가겠다고 하더라고.
That was okay with me because at least she came to the show.
그래도 괜찮았어. 적어도 누나가 공연을 보러 와줬으니까.
And before she left, she hugged me again. Two in one day! I really do love my sister. Especially when she’s nice.
가기 전에 누나가 나를 다시 한번 안아줬어. 하루에 두 번이나 말이야! 난 정말 우리 누나를 사랑해. 특히 누나가 이렇게 다정할 때는 말이야.
The party at Craig’s was great. Craig and Peter bought champagne to congratulate all the people who were graduating.
크레이그네 집 파티는 정말 즐거웠어. 크레이그랑 피터는 졸업하는 사람들을 축하해주려고 샴페인을 사 왔지.
And we danced. And we talked. And I saw Mary Elizabeth kissing Peter and looking happy. And I saw Sam kissing Craig and looking happy.
우린 춤을 추고 대화를 나눴어. 메리 엘리자베스가 피터와 키스하며 행복해하는 모습도 봤고, 샘이 크레이그와 키스하며 행복해하는 모습도 봤지.
And I saw Patrick and Alice not even care that they weren’t kissing anybody because they were too excited talking about their futures.
패트릭과 앨리스는 누구와도 키스하지 않았지만 상관없어 보였어. 자기들의 미래에 대해 떠드느라 너무 신이 나 있었거든.
So, I just sat there with a bottle of champagne near the CD player, and I changed the songs to fit the mood of what I saw.
난 그냥 CD 플레이어 근처에 샴페인 한 병을 들고 앉아서, 눈앞의 분위기에 어울리는 노래들로 계속 바꿔 틀었어.
I was lucky, too, because Craig has an excellent collection. When people looked a little tired, I played something fun.
다행히 크레이그의 CD 컬렉션이 아주 훌륭했어. 사람들이 좀 지쳐 보이면 신나는 노래를 틀었지.
When they looked like they wanted to talk, I played something soft. It was a great way to sit alone at a party and still feel a part of things.
이야기를 나누고 싶어 보이면 잔잔한 곡을 틀었어. 파티에서 혼자 앉아 있으면서도 소속감을 느낄 수 있는 아주 좋은 방법이었어.
