5월 말의 기록이 끝나고, 졸업 시즌인 6월 5일로 시간이 전환되었습니다.
Dear friend, I wanted to tell you about us running. There was this beautiful sunset. And there was this hill.
안녕 친구야, 우리가 달렸던 이야기를 해주고 싶어. 정말 아름다운 노을이 지고 있었고, 거기엔 언덕이 하나 있었어.
The hill up to the eighteenth green where Patrick and I spit wine from laughing.
패트릭이랑 내가 웃다가 와인을 뿜었던 그 18번 홀 그린으로 올라가는 언덕 말이야.
앞서 패트릭과 함께 방문했던 골프장 언덕(ID 2555)을 다시 언급하며 추억의 장소임을 상기시킵니다.
And just a few hours before, Sam and Patrick and everyone I love and know had their last day of high school ever.
그리고 불과 몇 시간 전은 샘이랑 패트릭, 그리고 내가 사랑하고 아는 모든 사람들의 고등학교 마지막 등교일이었어.
And I was happy because they were happy. My sister even let me hug her in the hallway. Congratulations was the word of the day.
다들 행복해 보여서 나도 정말 행복했어. 누나는 복도에서 내가 안아주는 걸 허락해주기까지 했지. 그날의 키워드는 ‘축하’였어.
So, Sam and Patrick and I went to the Big Boy and smoked cigarettes.
그래서 샘이랑 패트릭이랑 나는 ‘빅 보이’에 가서 담배를 피웠어.
Then, we went walking, waiting for it to be time to go to Rocky Horror.
그러고는 <록키 호러> 공연 시간을 기다리며 좀 걸었지.
And we were talking about things that seemed important at the time. And we were looking up that hill.
우린 그 당시엔 중요하게 느껴졌던 것들에 대해 이야기를 나눴어. 그리고 그 언덕을 올려다봤지.
And then Patrick started running after the sunset. And Sam immediately followed him.
그러자 갑자기 패트릭이 노을을 향해 달리기 시작했어. 샘도 곧장 그 뒤를 따랐고.
And I saw them in silhouette. Running after the sun.
노을 속에서 실루엣이 된 두 사람의 모습이 보였어. 태양을 쫓아 달려가는 모습이었지.
Then, I started running. And everything was as good as it could be.
나도 달리기 시작했어. 모든 게 더할 나위 없이 좋았지.
