Anyway, Mrs. Atanabi let her off the hook, because she ended up not making anyone dance together.
어쨌든 아타나비 선생님은 그 애를 보내 주셨다. 결국 아무도 짝을 지어 춤을 추지 않게 되었기 때문이다.
let someone off the hook은 직역하면 낚싯바늘에서 놓아주다라는 뜻으로, 누군가를 곤란한 상황이나 책임에서 벗어나게 해준다는 의미의 관용구입니다.
Then yesterday in my science elective, we were doing this cool mystery-powder investigation where we had to classify a substance as an acid or a base.
그리고 어제는 과학 선택 수업 시간에 산성인지 염기성인지 물질을 분류하는 재미있는 ‘미스터리 가루 조사’ 실험을 하고 있었다.
Everyone had to heat their mystery powders on a heating plate and make observations, so we were all huddled around the powders with our notebooks.
