She held her nose with one hand, and fanned the air with the other.

Clyde shushed her. “Then a teammate told me about Sploosh,” said the television Clyde.
클라이드가 그녀를 조용히 시켰다. “그때 한 팀 동료가 ‘스플래시’에 대해 말해 주더군요.” 텔레비전 속의 클라이드가 말했다.
Sploosh(스플래시)는 스탠리의 아버지가 발명한 발 냄새 제거제의 제품명입니다. 제구가 사막에서 발견한 100년 된 복숭아 절임에 붙였던 이름과 같다는 점이 재미있군요.
He pulled a can of Sploosh out from under the dugout bench and held it up for everyone to see.
그는 덕아웃 벤치 밑에서 스플래시 한 캔을 꺼내 모든 사람이 볼 수 있게 들어 올렸다.
“I just spray a little on each foot every morning, and now I really do have sweet feet. Plus, I like the tingle.”
“매일 아침 양쪽 발에 조금씩 뿌려 주기만 하면 됩니다. 그럼 이제 저처럼 정말로 향기로운 발을 가질 수 있죠. 게다가 톡 쏘는 그 느낌이 아주 좋습니다.”
“Sploosh,” said a voice. “A treat for your feet. Made from all natural ingredients, it neutralizes odor-causing fungi and bacteria.”
“스플래시.” 어떤 목소리가 흘러나왔다. “당신의 발을 위한 선물입니다. 100퍼센트 천연 성분으로 만들어져 냄새의 원인인 곰팡이와 박테리아를 중화시켜 줍니다.”
“Plus, you'll like the tingle.” Everyone at the party clapped their hands.
“거기에 상쾌한 기분까지 덤으로 느끼실 겁니다.” 파티에 모인 모든 사람이 손뼉을 쳤다.
“He wasn't lying,” said the woman who sat next to Clyde. “I couldn't even be in the same room with his socks.”
“저 말은 거짓말이 아니에요.” 클라이드 옆에 앉아 있던 여자가 말했다. “예전에는 그의 양말이 있는 방에 같이 있지도 못했다니까요.”
The other people at the party laughed. The woman continued, “I'm not joking. It was so bad—”
파티에 온 다른 사람들이 웃음을 터뜨렸다. 여자가 말을 이었다. “농담 아니에요. 정말 심각했다니까요—”
“You've made your point,” said Clyde, covering her mouth with his hand.
“무슨 말인지 다들 충분히 알았을 거야.” 클라이드가 손으로 그녀의 입을 막으며 말했다.
He looked back at Stanley. “Will you do me a favor, Stanley?”
그는 스탠리를 돌아보았다. “스탠리, 부탁 하나만 들어줄래?”
Stanley raised and lowered his left shoulder. “I'm going to get more caviar,” said Clyde.
스탠리가 왼쪽 어깨를 들썩였다. “캐비아를 좀 더 가져와야겠어.” 클라이드가 말했다.
“Keep your hand over my wife's mouth.” He patted Stanley on the shoulder as he rose from the couch.
“내 대신 우리 아내 입 좀 계속 막고 있어 줘.” 그는 소파에서 일어나며 스탠리의 어깨를 토닥였다.
